Prayer

We recently read a book titled A Man Named Peter expecting from the title to read about Saint Peter, the one who denied Christ 3 times before the cock crowd. He was the rock upon which the Christian faith thrived and grew. Instead, I read about a pastor from Scotland known for his faith and oratory.
As I frequently attend and report on local town meetings, a moment of silence instead of a prayer is the norm. It is also flat and uninspiring. Why not follow the example of both the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate by opening with a prayer?
I know. Someone will be offended. A suggestion: use what is known as the Serenity Prayer.
"God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."
This prayer is spoken daily by millions in over 180 countries by men and women who are atheists, agnostics, Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, and Hindu. America was born by men and women of faith. Let's keep faith alive.

Gas Prices Falling

Love's is once again aggressively competing against its Berkshire County gas stations. We were flabbergasted when their large and high signage said $2.89/gal, however, we drove in and saw at the pumps it is $2.93/gal. Its nearby competitor, a Mobil truck stop, is $2.99/gal. The good news is we can anticipate even lower prices as we drill, baby, drill nationwide.

Signs of Spring

You can be sure Spring is on its glorious way when you spot blooming daffodils in large numbers and forsythia showing its yellow start.
