Long Time

Milk & Honey has come a long way since it started at the former Pyrenees next to Queechy Lake for 2-3 meetings and then on to the Conservation Club out under the pine trees, no longer there. We moved to the club by the railroad tracks, which made sharing impossible when a train rolled by within spitting distance. Large coffee pots and overflowing with Dunkin Donuts in multiple boxes. One memorable woman could not open her mouth without a slew of F bombs. The current location is Canaan Town Hall and thanks to COVID has become a marvelous hybrid thanks to a few members who are beyond tech savvy. It hit me today that this is the only meeting I have attended almost as long as my sobriety and the only member from that era still alive.
As I say to my home group, Early Risers Hudson: Don't drink, go to meetings, don't die, and, voila, you are an old-timer.
Join us on June 7 at 2:00 PM at the grave of Ebby Thacher in Albany Rural Cemetery. Ebby introduced Bill W to the notion of a spiritual experience and steps to remain sober from the Oxford Group. Plus a wonderful barbecue near by.
